About Moodle
: Moodle is specifically a teaching tool, but many authorities use it for information / resource sharing. It is intended for Tutors, Managers and invited Learners - it is not a publicity tool for general web browsers. It is based on blocks of information (the rectangles at the sides and in the middle). Information comes under 2 headings; 'Course Categories' and then 'Courses' within the Course Categories. The use of the term 'course' can mean an information block, resource page or, a teaching course. Please note that by default, when you click on a 'course' to enter it for the first time, you will be asked to 'enrol'. All this means is that you will be allowed to view the page(s).
What does VLE mean? It stands for Virtual Learning Environment

e-Learning is defined as: … 'the use of technologies in learning opportunities'. This is a very broad definition but has been used in the context of the HEFCE e-Learning Strategy
